9.1 Sources of the study
The study of current school personnel is done through a couple of tabular presentations. The source of the figures presented for Teaching staff is the responses received from 65 out of the 87 schools to the DOE survey 1998 on this topic.

9.4 Recruitment Policies, Staff Norms, Retirement rules and Benefits etc.
Documentation of these areas was initially envisaged in this report. However, different school categories had different and in a few cases very detailed documentation on the above subjects. The inclusion of all these details was not felt necessary as planners can refer to the Education Codes of the various school categories whenever information of the above subjects is necessary. The retirement rules and benefits of DOE direct run schools are under consideration.
