Following are few tips that would be helpful for an applicant:
Applicants, get passport-sized photographs ready in bulk
Refer to last year's cut-off lists.
Do not go by hearsay.
Visit the websites of colleges or go through the previous year's prospectus. If possible, go to the campus and talk to the students.
Remember not all colleges guarantee accomodation. Check if you need to apply for a hostel seat separately.
Some colleges may use "Optical Mark Reader" forms, which require dark HB pencils.
Keep pens, eraser and glue-stick handy. Do not staple photographs to the forms.
Keep sufficient photocopies of marksheets, provisional certificates and records of sports and extra-curricular activities. These should be attested by a gazetted officer.
Many colleges conduct entrance exams for courses such as Journalism Honours, English Honours, Bachelor of Computer Applications, etc. Question papers of previous years are available on request from the colleges.
Finally, don't wait till the eleventh hour for submission of forms and fees.
